Welcome to Boyan Xia, who recently joined the lab. Boyan is a Freshman in the Fischell Department of Bioengineering at UMCP and will be working with PhD candidate Lisa Tostanoski on biomaterial-based strategies to promote immune tolerance.
Read more about Boyan and the entire group on the Team page. Prof. Jewell chaired a national conference session focused on immunological applications of materials. The session was held on Thursday at the annual meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in San Francisco, CA. Presentations included exciting results in areas spanning immunomodulation, vaccine design, and immunotherapy. Special thanks Dr. Steven Little from the University of Pittsburgh for kicking the session off with an invited talk, and to all the speakers for great science!
