Congratulations to graduate student Shannon Tsai, who passed her PhD qualifying exam earlier this week! Shannon will now get started on her research to understand the interactions between the immune system and biomaterials being used as carriers for vaccines and immunotherapies. Keep up the good work!
Read more about Shannon on the team page. Dr. Peipei Zhang has led a new review article accepted for publication in Polymers. The review focuses on new ways in which polyelectrolyte materials are being used to modify cell surfaces. Congratulations to Peipei and co-author Michelle Bookstaver!

Congratulations to Jim Andorko, AAPS Doctoral Fellow, who has accepted a postdoctoral position at Johns Hopkins University under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Elisseeff and Dr. Drew Pardoll. Jim will wrap up his PhD this summer and begin his postdoctoral training. Congrats Jim!
Read more about Jim on the team page. Prof. Jewell has been named to the editorial board of the Journal of Immunology and Regenerative Medicine. This new journal - lead by Dr. Stephen Badylak (University of Pittsburgh) and Dr. Thomas Wynn (NIAID) - will serve as a forum for the publication of studies that explore the potential and essential roles of the immune system in tissue and organ development, maintenance, response to environmental stressors, response to injury, and in the processes of tissue repair and regeneration. Thanks to the editors for the inivitation to become involved.
