![]() Our fully automated fluorescent microscope has arrived and is being installed. In addition to full automation, the Olympus IX83 features full hardware integration, scanning four channel imaging, and a point-spread certified 60x oil immersion objective. The Jewell lab has received a collaborative seed grant from the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children’s National Medical Center and the Clark School of Engineering. The grant was co-authored with SZI collaborator Dr. Stanislav Vukmanovic and will fund research to develop biomaterial-based vaccines for autoimmune disorders. The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Foundation has selected the Jewell lab to receive a Pharmaceutics Grant to fund work in the area of therapeutic vaccines.
