Best wishes to our newest alumna, Dr. Qin Zeng, who wrapped up her postdoc in the lab today. Dr. Zeng has accepted a position as a tenure track faculty member at Sichuan University in the National Engineering Research Center for Biomaterials - Congratulations Qin!! Great news to report that the Fernandes, Jewell, and Cruz labs have been awarded a collaborative NIH R01 from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The grant is led by Dr. Rohan Fernandes, and will support combination of the Jewell Lab's immunotherapy technologies with photothermal therapy strategies developed by Dr. Fernandes, and the translational expertise of Dr. Cruz. Congratulations to the whole team and thanks to NCI for the fantastic support!

The interview covered highlighted the new opportunities that biomaterials are creating for engineers in the fields of vaccines and immunotherapy.
